The Wasserberghaus, a hiking center of the Albverein, is located at the eastern end of the Wasserberg, right next to the Nightmare, with a wide view of the Filstal valley and the three Kaiser mountains in the Göppingen district. The hostel is hosted all year round, cozy inns and outdoor seating invite you to stop by. Also overnight stays are possible. Rest days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Oh and dog-friendly, the hosts are also.
The food was very tasty. More at: wasserberghaus.de

Topp organized Albvereinsheim! Even with a large rush of visitors the helpers keep the innkeepers the overview. The accommodations are also good. The view over the Filstal is fantastic.

The Wasserberghaus was built in 1926 by the Swabian Albverein and expanded in 1966. The varied landscape of the Albtraufes allows varied hikes to the east, to the west over the summits of Filsalb, as well as in a southerly direction to the rugged valley landscape around the upper Filstal, which was formerly called "Geißentäle". The Wanderheim is surrounded by beautiful Albwälder, which are interrupted by small juniper heaths. In addition to the cozy taverns, outdoor seating is available.
