For kilometers, the road winds close to the rock face, sometimes with views into the narrow, steep valley.
It is an endless glide from curve to curve. If you come closer to Pontremoli, the high mountains of the Apennines appear on the other side of the Magratal and offer an imposing picture.
The mentioned direction tends to be more beautiful than the other direction. However, both are great.
