The aqueduct bridge in Vollem was part of the Roman Eifel water pipe that supplied the Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium, ancient Cologne, with drinking water, and lies between the towns of Vollem and Urfey. The aqueduct bridge is almost completely preserved and transported the water from the source areas Grüner Pütz and Klausbrunnen via the ancient Kallmuther Bach towards Cologne. It was one of the many smaller bridges in the Eifel water pipe that served to overcome streams. A little way down the line came the strand coming from the source area in Urfey on the canal. The water was then transported in the vaulted underground canal through the Veybach valley to the collecting basin in Eiserfey.

A holdover from the Roman Canal with a great resting place

Located directly on a small hiking parking lot with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, there is not that much to see of the bridge. An information board and a possibility to take a break are still worth a stop.
