With a diameter of 100 meters, the Effelsberg radio telescope is one of the largest fully articulated radio telescopes in the world and the most powerful in Europe.
At the visitor pavilion there are a few videos that explain how the radio telescope works.
Information lectures are held for registered groups of 8 to a maximum of 80 people in the months from April to October from Tuesday to Saturday at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm.
No lectures are offered on Mondays, Sundays and public holidays.
Contribution to costs: 2 euros (adults), 1 euro (schoolchildren, students and trainees).
Smaller groups and individual visitors can join the registered groups.
A prior telephone request is recommended.
