Where the splendid parish church of St. Ulrich is enthroned today, there was an early Christian bishop's church as early as the early 5th century, but it was destroyed around 600 by falling boulders. Remnants of this old church were only discovered during excavations in 1990.
Today's parish church was initially built in the Gothic style and was later rebuilt in the Baroque style. The construction of the tower alone took over 30 years. Inside the church there is a miraculous image of the Madonna from the 17th century, which is why the church also serves as a pilgrimage church. It is the starting point of the “Hoch & Heilig” long-distance hiking trail.
