The chapel St. Maria Magdalena is in the easternmost part of the municipality, in Gula near Tobel opposite Schnaus. Gula used to be a larger settlement. It is conceivable that the patronage of the Church of Schnaus was transferred to this chapel when it was abolished in the Reformation.

There are no written documents about the building and the early history of the chapel. It is believed to have originated in the 16th century. In 1643 the chapel was rebuilt or rebuilt. Although this is not dated, it is confirmed by the vault painting, which, due to its peculiarities, can be assigned to Giovanni Battista Macholino from the Val San Giacomo near Chiavenna or his workshop. Macholino had already painted in the Catholic Church in Pleif in Vella and in the Catholic Church in Sagogn.

Both bells from 1643 with the inscription "SANCTA MARIA ET SS. FRANZISCE ET SANCTA MA. MAG. ORATE PRO NOBIS A. DO. 1643" have been preserved. The larger one still hangs in the chapel, the smaller one in the roof tab of the St. Antonius chapel in Rueun. The tower is younger than the chapel and stands on the north side of the choir.

The chapel was extensively restored in 2000.
