The community Ralswiek is located in the center of the island of Rügen on Jasmunder Bodden. Approximately 400 inhabitants live in the small town and its districts Jarnitz, Gnies and Augustenhof. What makes Ralswiek popular with tourists and residents alike is its stunning location in an original landscape of wooded hills, fields and meadows. To the northeast opens a view of the impressive Bodden landscape. Ralswiek with its districts has a thousand-year history. Authentic the chronicle of the community that Ralswiek was first mentioned in documents in 1020. Archaeological excavations and research see Ralswiek as a significant finding. Among the most valuable and well-known finds are the Arabian silver treasure and the quite well preserved shipwrecks in Slavic style. It is not without reason that Ralswiek is therefore dubbed the legendary Vineta Rügen.

Many visitors flock to the annual event of the Störtebeker Festival in the city.
