Natural hot spring with a square man-made pool and even a change room at the end of a long gravel road in the Santa Barbara Mountains. Visitors MUST buy a day or annual adventure pass e.g. in Santa Barbara BEFORE heading into the mountains; there are no passes or rangers available on site, but they do patrol occasionally and love giving tickets. With the pass the use of parking and camping nearby is free. A 10 minute trail leads to more natural and lesser known hot springs at the north past the end of the driveable road.

Hiking

Clean free public hot springs in the wilderness, with perfect temperatures and few visitors. Main pool and change rooms are easily accessible from the road, right at the parking lot before the road ends. Another more beautiful hidden set of pools is 500 yards further along the foot trail.

Mountain biking

Two smaller hot spring tubs are located about 100yd beyond the main Bit Caliente Hotsprings on the opposite side of the creek. Pass the sign at the top of the hill and about 100ft down the path, you'll see an additional 2 hot tubs on the other side of the creek.
