Cable way Prati di Tivo-La Madonnina (from 1449 to 2007) goes from Prati di Tivo (38 km from Teramo, on the easter side of Gran Sasso, to La Madonnina (famouse for the statue of Mother Mary); in the area 4 km of Cross country skiing and 15 km of Alpine skiing, served by 5 lift systems. Great view of Gran Sasso!

The Madonnina is the point of reference for those who frequent the Gran Sasso. The cable car that goes up from Prati di Tivo arrives here. It is the starting point of the path that leads to the Franchetti refuge and the various summit paths. The path that goes up to the Madonnina from Prati di Tivo is however a beautiful excursion suitable for anyone.

At 2050 mt close to the upper cable station from Prati di Tivo a little cave with a statue of Mother Mary also called “Bianca Castellana”. The statue made by the roman artist Conti, was brought here in the 1935.
