Tips
Gannz in the north of the Eastern fjords is picturesquely situated at Borgarfjörður eystri the village Bakkagerði. It is framed by colorful rhyolite mountains on one side and the impressive Dyrfjöll massif on the other. Here the border between the dark basalt mountains in the west and the brightly colored mountains in the east runs. Bakkagerði not only has a breathtaking location, but is also said to be the home of the Icelandic elven king.
