The place of execution is referred to as a "three-sleeper gallows" because it consists of three sandstone pillars, which face each other in a triangle and are connected at the top with cross-connections. With this, several executions could be carried out at the same time last penance, for absolution for the wrongdoer

The gallows were built in 1597 instead of a wooden gallows. The number of executed people is unclear, but there are some indications that relatively few people were killed there, which is probably also due to the relatively liberal jurisprudence of the Erbach count house.

Hi, everyone! I have been hiking in the Beerfelder area several times: you can hike in all directions, it's beautiful everywhere! Direction Etzean e.g. where many stud farms can be seen, from there down to the Marbach - reservoir - this area is simply gorgeous! If you want to go further, you can then hike back via Hetzbach! Preferably with food, as you will be on the road for quite a while! Marion wishes you lots of fun and wonderful weather
