The origin of the village is not certain. In 1626 it is mentioned in an interest book. At that time it belonged to the Junkers from Flersheim and the Pistons from Wartenberg.
During the Thirty Years' War, the village was destroyed in 1635 by Croatian troops from the Catholic League.
In 1652 Baudweiler was described as no longer existing.
Today only the Baudweiler Kreuz, a sandstone cross on a traffic island, reminds of the former village.
