The hike on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail was one of the highlights of my trip to Western Canada. The Kettle Valley Rail Trail used to be a railway line. Now it is a walkable path that leads over several wooden bridges and through railway tunnels. Especially the wooden bridges offer some spectacular views of the Myra Canyon and Lake Okanagan. Also spectacular is the landscape itself. In 2003 there was a big forest fire here, which partly destroyed the bridges. These have been rebuilt by the Myra Canyon Trestle Restoration Society. But there are thousands of spent tree trunks that adorn the canyon like toothpicks and give the landscape a special touch.
