The Dürrenbach circular route is approx. 4.5 km long and takes around 1 hour in a leisurely pace.

If you start counter-clockwise from Dürrenbach, the first half of the tour is an almost straight dirt road with an ascent, but which is beautifully led through the forest.

In the second half you are on the first few meters on the Rennsteig. Then the path leads down again along the edge of the forest, where you will find one or two seats that you would not have expected at this point. Passing the Dürrenbach source, it goes back to Dürrenbach as a starting point.

Very nicely laid out, easily manageable, circular hiking trail between Dürrenbach and the Rennsteig near Grumbach.

There is plenty of seating along the way and lots of information boards, including information on the surrounding villages.

Many thanks to the Dürrenbach hikers who put a lot of time and work into this successful project.
