The current mill comes from Treuenbrietzen and was no longer needed there due to the new construction of the Dutch mill (still exists today). A major fire, caused during repair work, destroyed the old Marzahna mill in 1892. The miller Gensike acquired the old Treuenbrietzener mill and moved it to Marzahna at the site of the burned-down mill. This mill was built in 1828 by the Gensike family as the second mill in town. Mill house completely renovated with wind rods and double safety.
Completely renovated in 1994 and 2001, wings renewed after storm damage with the help of local initiatives and sponsors.
