Mont Beuvray is also known as the ancient Oppidum of the Gallic town of Bibracte. It is not only a remarkable archaeological site, but also a place of splendid nature with both an exceptional view and a magical forest of twisting beech trees. You can take a culinary break on site at the Le Chaudron restaurant, which will concoct typical Gallic dishes, inspired by ancient recipes. Mont Beuvray is an archaeological site from the Celtic era. Bibracte had approx. 2000 years ago 20,000 inhabitants!
There is a museum at the foot of the mountain (worthwhile).
