It is the church that dominates the town with its bell tower. Here Jacopone da Todi is buried. The construction dates back to a short time after the year 1000 but the current appearance derives from the Gothic makeover that began in 1292 and ended in the mid-15th century. The central portal is interesting, decorated with bas-reliefs by the stonemasons of Giovanni da Santuccio di Fiorenzola's workshop.Observing the fifth column at the bottom right, we find the figure of a friar turned with his body towards the tortiglione which continues along the entire column to end on the right, always at the bottom, on the back of a nun.Few people know this allegory that has been interpreted as a metaphor for the struggle of Good against Evil ... but it seems more like a joke by a stonemason of the shop who, poorly paid, wanted to represent a sort of revenge against the client.
