This is a former water reservoir of the Weilerquelle, which supplied Wildentierbach with water until 1910. Since the altitude is too low, the higher-lying houses in the village did not get any water. As a result, a new reservoir was built and pipes were laid.

This is the former water reservoir of the Weilerquelle, which supplied Wildentierbach with water until 1910 (1946?). Since the altitude is too low, the higher-lying houses in the village could not be connected to the water supply.

The people fetched the water from the 3 wells in the village.
The cattle were led to the drinking troughs at the wells in the morning and in the evening.

The source with pumping station is in the Reutal below the lake.

Allegedly, the Wehrmacht (1939-1945) had the pipelines laid from the pumping station to the makeshift airfield on the Hefte. The Wildentierbachers then laid the pipes from the Heften reservoir to the village as a compulsory labor force.
