On the slopes of the Ernici Mountains, Fiuggi extends, surrounded by a rich vegetation of chestnut woods, so imposing as to be able to obtain "mini-homes". The upper part of the city is characterized by a maze of narrow streets and squares where you can immerse yourself in the charm of the rich history of the place. In the church of San Biagio Martire valuable works are preserved, such as a painting by Cavalier d'Arpino, a holy water stoup formed by a Romanesque capital and a fresco of the Virgin and Child (12th century; Giotto's school). Two silver busts of the patron (S.Biagio) and promotor (S.Rocco) are located in the Collegiate Church of S. Pietro. The lower part of the city, that of the Baths, is characterized by the presence of the Fonte di Bonifacio VIII and the Anticolana one, in which the "Fiuggi" mineral waters are collected, famous for their therapeutic properties (they were also prescribed to Pope Bonifacio VIII who immediately benefited from it and from Michelangelo to appease the "stone sickness" he suffered from).
