An event parking lot between Dortmund's Westfalenpark and the soccer stadium serves as a one of two Northrhine-Westfalian refuge reception/screening centers since 2015. It can register, including medical exams, up to 600 refugees per day, who stay about 2 days before being directed to their temporary residence in other German cities. Dortmund residences have reached capacity and are not receiving new refugees since June 2016.
