Rocky Ridge Trail boasts scenic views of Bollinger Canyon and the Oakland Hills, making it easy to understand why it is one of the most popular destinations for a loop hike in the park. The rolling scenery makes you forget that you are so close to the towns of Danville and San Ramon. Patches of white rock along the route are actually clumps of shell fossils, a reminder that this beautiful area was once below sea level.

Rocky Ridge (View) Trail leads along a ridge on the western edge of the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness, which offers 5,342 acres of wilderness and an expanded trail system. Near the summit at Rock 2 it connects with Sycamore trail in the south and Rocky Ridge Road, which comes up from the main parking area in the north.
