The Leogang mountains are a mountain group of the Northern Limestone Alps in the Eastern Alps in the province of Salzburg. They are located between the Loferer valley, Saalfelden and Leogang and together with the northwest superior Loferer Steinbergen two mountain poles, which are separated by the Römersattel (1202 m), but in the Alpine club division of the Eastern Alps are defined as a single subgroup (Loferer and Leogang stone mountain). The Leogang mountains are separated from the southern KitzbĂŒhel Alps and the eastern Steinernes Meer by cut valleys. Typical for the Steinberge are plateau blocks with steep edge drops and strongly waved Hochkaren.

As a typical karst mountains, the Leogang mountains are also crossed by numerous caves. The best known of these is the more than 50 km long Lamprechtsofen, directly on the main road between Lofer and Saalfelden. A notable rock formation is the Melkerloch in the southeastern wall of the Birnhorn.

The Birnhorn, at 2,634 m, is the highest peak. The training area Hochfilzen of the Austrian Armed Forces is located in the west of the Leogang Steinberge.
