It is part of the Reformed Church in Hungary, the second-largest denomination in the country. Pápa is the center of the Reformed Church District of Transdanubia, and the town is known for its historic churches, including the Neo-Renaissance Reformed Great Church, completed in 1941.

Cycling
It was originally built in 1744 by the Paulines (the only order founded in Hungary). After the Pauline order was dissolved under Emperor Joseph II, the Benedictines later took over the building and the adjacent grammar school. Because of its bright facade, it is often popularly called the "White Church". The Moorish Christ: A famous 17th-century wooden statue showing a dark-painted corpus. The church is known for its valuable, ornate wood carvings on the altars and the pulpit.
