The mining area located in the Herzogenrath-Merkstein district was recultivated and created the Adolf Park pit. So z. B. a - but very steep - way up to the approximately 100 m towering spoil heap to the two viewing plateaus "Grenzlandblick" (230 m above sea level) and "summit view" (245 m above sea level). Especially from the borderland view opens up great views!

The ascent from the Ringweg to the plateau is very steep in the upper part; the scree on top of it and the gullies washed out by the rain make it necessary to walk there (without MTB). The descent via the bike park is only recommended for experts and only with MTB.
