Above the Poppsches Gut residential area, on the Forstgartenweg, is the “Gnade Gottes Erbstollen” mine.
This gem of old mining in the Ore Mountains, which was built around 1515, is known far beyond the region's borders.
In the voluntary work of the mining association Olbernhau e.V., a 180m long route has so far been expanded for visitor traffic and the underground world has been made accessible. There is a temperature of 8-10 degrees underground all year round and the clothing should be adjusted accordingly.
Tours take place from April to October on the second Saturday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to around 4:00 p.m. or after prior registration. Interested parties are invited to participate in the public participation from 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on Saturday.
