The Hardausee
is the northernmost and probably the smallest dam in Germany. However, the Hardausee has a damming system with a height of over 5m and so it is technically a dam.
The valley has its origin in the Ice Age, which shaped the landscape around Hösseringen. One speaks here of an end moraine area and so Hösseringen is surrounded by hills.
The lake is fed by the Heidebach Hardau and has an area of approximately 8 hectares.
