This is where the borders of the Electorate of Trier, the County of Nassau-Saarbrücken and the Duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken used to meet. As stone witnesses to history, four historical boundary stones have been preserved as a unique ensemble at this point. The so-called “Jagen-Stein” from 1600 marked the border of the hunting district of Saal, which was in the Duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken. The Dreibannstein from 1710 separated the districts of St. Wendel, Werschweiler and Niederkirchen. And the two boundary stones with the number 10B were set in 1921 as part of the demarcation between the German Reich (D) and the Saar region (S) as a result of the Versailles Peace Treaty.
