The fortress of Sveti Ivan or as the locals call it, the castle of San Giovanni is located above the old town of Kotor on the steep mountain slope. The fortification was built to protect the city from invaders.
1350 steps lead to the top. The castle was built 280 meters above sea level. The church of "Our Lady", which stands at a height of 100 meters, dates back to the 16th century.

Unfortunately, there are on the way there and in the fortress itself, tons of garbage ... empty plastic bottles, soda cans and other civil and tourist stuff. How ignorant do you have to be ?! - We only have this one (re) world, - people, the trash that you carry up fully, you could carry empty and thus easy, down again. Thousands of people daily go this way to look at beautiful things and enjoy and destroy it "in the same minute". WAKE UP!!!
