Riverside Promenade of Arcen on the Maas

Arcen is a small Dutch fortress town located about 10 km north of Venlo on the banks of the Meuse.
There is a nice central square with some shops and restaurants. Particularly noteworthy is the castle from the 17th century with the attached castle garden.
At the southern end of the town stands a historic watermill that can be visited. It also houses the distillery "De IJsvogel", which produces gin, herbal bitters and liqueurs. A homonymous restaurant is also available.
On the Maas is the so-called toll tower from the 15th century, which was part of a larger fortification.
