Botanical Garden The University of P. J. 'af'rika in Kosice - the metropolis of the east - is the largest botanical garden in Slovakia.

The Kosice Botanical Garden is located at the foot of the hills on the northern outskirts on an area of 30 hectares. It has been open to the public since 1950. In total there are almost 4,000 plant species, making them the most important in Central Europe.

In particular, a collection of around 1,200 cacti and succulents is rare, which is reported to be the largest collection of cacti in the entire area of the former Czechoslovakia.

It will also include the display of beautiful orchids, insect icing plants or other types of tropical and subtropical flora in the 1,742 m greenhouse area2.
