In 748/49 the owner of Niederglaucha estate, Koch, had this mill built. Leased for a few years, Christian Friedrich Wolkwitz bought the mill.
In 1927 it was given an electric drive under Oswald Wolkwitz. The mill has been fully functional until 1961, more than 200 years ago.

The wings, damaged by storm damage, were renewed and used again after a 22-year wind break in 1983 under Müller Alfred Wolkwitz. Flour was milled until 1950, until today the mill is used to grind feed in neighborhood aid.
The post-windmill is family-owned in the sixth generation.
