The charming Bexadde Valley northwest of Damme is a natural paradise. It is a narrow eroded valley with a near-natural stream. The Bexaddetal can be easily reached from a hiking car park on Gramker Straße and from the car park at the former Benedictine monastery.
In the valley you will find a variety of different biotopes that offer a home to rare animal and plant species. For the Dammer, the valley has a high value as a local recreation area due to its proximity to the city (about 2 kilometers from the center) and its beautiful nature. Various hiking trails, Nordic walking routes, pilgrimage routes and an educational trail lead through the Bexaddetal.
According to legend, there is said to be a nymph in the Bexaddetal who once opened a spring with drinking water for a knight. The valley is named after her.
