The salt marshes near Sehestedt have a special feature that is unique on the Jade Bay: Here, upstream of the dike and exposed to the tides, there is a floating moor. Who starts the tour on the dike, from there has a good view of the unicum called Sehestedter Außendeichsmoor. It is the remnant of a vast moorland that once covered the entire area of today's Jade Bust and areas to the south of it 1000 years ago.
