Spielberg Castle was acquired by the Steinacker family of artists around 1980 and extensively renovated in the years that followed. The art gallery is very lovingly laid out. It extends over the outside area of the castle wall and the large inner castle courtyard. Today it is a gem of artistic cultural history. Each sculpture is a unique piece of a special kind, but also something you can touch.

Spielberg Castle stands on the foundations of a former castle. After countless changes of ownership, the castle was in a ruinous condition at the beginning of the 20th century. The owner at the time, Prince Albrecht von Oettingen-Spielberg, bequeathed the castle to the artist Ernst Steinacker. He renovated and renovated the castle according to his ideas and worked on his sculptures here for decades. The castle is still owned by the Steinacker family today. On Sundays, however, you can visit the castle, the sculptures in the inner courtyard and the rooms as part of a guided tour and immerse yourself in Ernst Steinacker's life's work.

      Opening hours:

All year round on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m

I don't need to add anything to the other comments...except that I had a nice conversation with the gentleman of the "owning" family.

He basically led me to the location of the old tower castle.

This stood where the 4 lime trees now mark the cornerstones.
