    Hiking

    The wooden bridge is surprisingly steep but a fun way to cross the river. The bridge gets its name from when Gwydyr Forest was mined for lead, zinc and copper, and the miners would have crossed here for work (although, their crossing was probably a lot more haphazard). Interestingly, it was probably the spot the Roman's crossed many centuries ago to invade the druid stronghold of Ynys Mon.

    September 2020 and the bridge is not there and there is no alternate crossing unless you walk all the way down to Betws....,.
