This old town is worth seeing at any time of the day, but especially in the evening with the hustle and bustle in all the streets.

Rovinj is the most beautiful town on the Istrian peninsula. Has a lovely harbour side and little cobbled streets, with many small arty shops leading up to the church of St Euphamia, which gives extensive views across the bay. The church is free to visit, but well worthwhile for tower fans is the church tower with amazing views from the top, charge 50 Kuna per person. The old wooden steps are a little uneven and the fact that you can see straight down between them can make for a slow descent behind a nervous traveller! The Main Street is also worth walking through, with a real atmosphere in the evenings. Can book a trip on fast catamaran to Venice for the day from Rovinj. About £70 per person. Leaves at about 7.30 arriving in Venice at 10.30. The boat then leaves to return at 17.00, giving enough time to explore Venice. (Beware of the extra “offers” made on the boat for taxi boat into and return to the harbour, lunch and gondola ride which will bump up the cost significantly and are not necessary as everything is accessible on foot and lunch can be a pizza cut from a street corner!
Back to Rovinj! Another must is a walk around the bay to Zlatni Rt. This is a forested area with lovely walks and beautiful sea views. Can find a quiet patch of rock for sunbathing, but well worth having some rock shoes for swimming. There are a couple of cafe/ bars in the area for drinks/ ice creams which are very popular. Bikes can be hired at the entrance to the forest which will allow for more of the area to be explored.
Overall, Rovinj is a great place to visit.
Like on a postcard and the small narrow streets are great.
