The Majella preserves nature and history. Waterfalls, hermitages, paths and roads. A lifetime would not be enough to explore every corner, let alone one day!

In the territory of the Majella National Park there is the medieval village of Campo di Giove, home to an information centre.

Belonging to the system of numerous protected areas in Abruzzo, considered for this Green Region of Europe, the Majella National Park is characterized by the high mountainousness of its territory, which is 55% at altitudes above 2000 meters. The wide morphological and altitudinal variety of its area, together with the rigid but variable climate, influenced by the mitigating action of the sea, have contributed to creating a great differentiation of habitats for numerous living species.

Vast areas within it present typical aspects of wild nature, with a rich national heritage of flora and fauna biodiversity: the Park hosts, in fact, over 78% of mammal species (except Cetaceans) present in Abruzzo, and over 45 % of Italian ones; more than 1,800 plant species surveyed with Mediterranean, Alpine, Balkan, Pontic, Illyrian, Pyrenean and Arctic elements.
