Moldoveanu Peak is the highest mountain peak in Romania, located in the Făgăraș Massif, Argeș County. Its altitude is 2,544 meters. Due to the mountain peaks around it, most of which are over 2,400 meters, Moldoveanu Peak is only visible from the Făgăraș Ridge or from the air, unlike many of the main peaks of the Făgăraș Range, which are also visible from the Făgăraș Depression.

Moldoveanu Peak (Romanian: Vârful Moldoveanu) pronounced [moldoˈve̯anu], Moldovan Peak), at 2,544 meters, is the highest mountain in Romania. It is located in Argeș County, in the Făgăraș Mountains of the Southern Carpathians.

The wild Carpathians! :) At 2544 meters above sea level the highest peak in Romania. The climb is easy to manage. It wasn't overrun at the time I was there (may be different now). Wonderful view of the entire Fogarasch massif.

Romania's highest peak (2544). In good weather a great view. Short exposed tightrope walk to get from the ascent to the summit.
