Tips
A jewel in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The path hewn into the cliff used to be used by the alpine farmers to drive their cattle into the pasture area of the village valley. The former trade from the East Tyrolean side into Salzburg via the Kalser Tauern also led through the gorge. The current tunnel was built much later.

A beautiful valley opens up after or in front of the gorge, which is not too long and not too strenuous to hike. The Dorfertal. Good trails, idyllic pastures and waterfalls.
