The Wolfsburg Planetarium was opened on December 1, 1983 and is one of the ten largest facilities of its kind in Germany. It has space for 140 visitors under a dome with a diameter of 15 meters. A central projector projects the sun, moon and planets as well as over 9,000 stars under the dome roof, giving the viewer a realistic impression of the sky on a starry night.
