For me, the Friesenbergsee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes. Surrounded by a rather barren landscape, he radiates a very special and mystical atmosphere. From the Friesenberghaus, located at 2,472 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a special kind of light at sunrise or dusk.

On the cliff above the northeastern shore of the lake (looking towards the Riffler), the DAV section Berlin has set up a sport climbing garden (routes between UIAA 3 to 8, in the meantime possibly higher) with up to 2 SL tours. Topos are available at the host.

The Friesenbergsee is located right next to the Friesenberghütte. Walking from the Schlegeis dam, you reach the Friesenberghaus in about 2.5 hours. A great hike, which is also feasible for children. Meadows and smaller waterfalls line the path. Once at the top, you can be pampered with culinary delights and cool his feet in the Friesenbergsee a little. If you want, you can stay up here for one night.
