In the region of Maremma and Punta Ala there are a number of camping places near Castiglione della Pescaia. This one is a bit hidden, but it's worth it to find it.

On the website of a resort is the speech, which is easy to suggest a slide paradise and all-inclusive services. If you are looking for this, you will not find it here.

The campsite has four stars, but is a natural campsite. In other words, it is located in a 25-acre pine forest and offers a lot of space see

The tents are not parcel-like in rank and file, but one is "largely" undisturbed. Places in the "via Costiera" are near the sea and you hear this night rushing. Cars are not allowed here for daily traffic. Only at the beginning or end of the journey, otherwise they are outside - apart from motorhomes of course.

Near the campsite is a mountainous region on the Tuscan coast. This includes a lot of trails that are well signposted. With additional help from Komoot and Smartphone nothing goes wrong here. Anyone looking for a home for mountain biking or trail running is in good hands here.

I do not want to say that the campsite is specially designed for mountain bikers, but this is a special destination for the target group. It offers bike station, wash station for MTB (necessary because of the fine dust) and guided tour guides, for example, a shuttle service for downhill trails.

TIP:

The end of September at the campsite ends the operation and end of August ends in Italy, the summer holidays. Who can set it up in time should possibly use this time for a stay here. It is a lot quieter here.

And it's worth booking in advance from home (if the period is 100% clear and definite). The best half a year, so can quickly save one to two hundred euros. However, there is no money back, for earlier departure and in case of failure (exception: travel cancellation insurance). Just look at the website for the conditions.

One more word to the sea:

It is very shallow and you can almost walk over to Elba (after 100m the water only goes up to your knees). This also makes the place for children's holidays attractive and safe
