This is a steep climb through picturesque countryside peaking at about a 16% incline, but you can take a break at the top and explore Watership Down if you fancy a little walk and a break taking in the scenery from this high viewpoint.

As steep as it is going up, it is going down....enjoy!

The first part is the steepest, as previous comments state, the gradient ramps up to around 16% and the road surface is a little rough ( this adds to the challenge though). Once you have done the steepest section there's a nice section to catch your breath and cruise on much kinder gradients before the final short sharp push to the top. You won't come across many cars using this route but beware you might come across some farm traffic.

This is a great little climb. My Garmin has occasionally told me that the gradient goes up to 10%!

The long descent to Ashley Warren after the peak of the climb is also good. You just need to be aware of the warning signs for livestock & children, and the fact that it's single track, barely wide enough to pass oncoming traffic.
