Mountain biking
In the 10th century, the abbey, like other monasteries of the region, was destroyed during the wars and incursions which will characterize this time. In 1050, the Pope of Alsace, Leo IX, raised the monastery from its ruins, established Benedictine monks there and made call this valley and its monastery of the word of "Saint-Marc", from where its current name.
