Germany's only cycling monument.
The owl is a mountain in Fröndenberg / Ruhr that is well-known among cyclists. Its 1,200 m ascent is an average of 7.7% steep, the maximum gradient is 13%.
In 1999, 2006 and 2008 the Eule Mountain Classification was part of the Deutschland Tour, at the event in 2006 Erik Zabel single-handedly won a mountain classification point that was untypical for a sprinter. Thanks to these celebrities, hobby drivers can also use the information on the meters still to be covered on the road.
A memorial erected on the mountain by Willi Kemper, which was inaugurated by Gustav Kilian on August 19, 1989, is dedicated to “the cyclists of all nations”.

The owl in Fröndenberg, small rest area with seating. Depending on which side you come from, it's quite steep.
