Around 1589 the second Bartelstein Castle was built, which was probably destroyed in the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).
The current castle was built on the foundations of this castle. In the 18th century, the castle served as a prison.
In 1832 the castle went into private ownership.
Visits not possible because of private ownership.
The castle is built on a rock with a limestone cave system. This is still worth seeing. (I will submit pictures of this later)
