Unfortunately, this highlight is completely wrong. It's not called "Hechler-Hütte" but Hecherhütte, which is in a completely different position and several HM lower in the valley. A photo shows the torrent control at the beginning of the Altenbergweg - again somewhere completely different.
It's best to delete and forget this "highlight"...

Alpine skiing

On the valley descent to Viehofen, a detour to the Hecherhütte is actually a must. There is also the legendary Hecherfeuer here.
In the evening an excellent steak or fondue is served. It is also possible to go down by sledge.
