The Haus Katz is a listed building that is located in the center of the city of Jüchen. In the immediate vicinity you will find the neo-Gothic St. Jakobus d. Ä. also the evangelical court church behind the houses on the Jüchen market. At the beginning of the 18th century, the official of the Duke of Jülich, Paulus Katz, built a court seat in the form of a baroque castle complex on the ruins of an old knight's residence. The complex originally had two outbuildings and a manor house surrounded by moats, which is still preserved, as well as two wings of the southern outbuilding. Until 1767, the system was expanded and rebuilt several times. After the death of Johann Theodor Katz, the facility changed hands several times. In 1973 the municipality of Jüchen acquired the building complex and converted the outer bailey into an administration building. Today the main building houses the city council hall and the wedding room of the city of Jüchen.
