Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
The Chemnitz can be really proud of their bike path, completely paved, a tunnel about 30m long through the rock and at least one big bridge. What more do you want?

Unfortunately, this cycle path only runs from Chemnitz to Taura. The planned further route has not yet been completed. A short distance to Diethensdorf should be nearing completion. It is always accessible. There are no further sections, for example to Göritzhain or Wechselburg. The only alternative is the country road via Göritzhain, Stein, Seitenhain, then Nöbeln, Meusen, Fischheim Zaßnitz and finally Rochlitz. In Seitenhain it goes a few meters uphill to Meusen. Then you switch downhill, so to speak, from the Chemnitz valley to the Mulde valley. The mileage on the sign in Chemnitz at the beginning of the cycle path shows a mileage from 50 to Rochlitz. The fox measured that with its tail. I drive a total of 37.5 km from Heinrich-Schütz-Strasse in Chemnitz to Talstrasse in Seelitz.

An absolute must if you live in Chemnitz and the surrounding area! Suitable for beginners, but not boring for professionals either

Well-maintained bike path, but especially crowded on weekends. Nice way with the bike to drive into the city.

Great family-friendly bike path from the Schweizerthal to Chemnitz and back. Our kids (5 and 4) have mastered it. Approx. 34 km there and back

Also suitable for skaters or children. Refreshments are not really available. In Markersbach at the museum train station you can fortify yourself with a snack with the usual snacks such as fries, sausages etc. Or you can take a picnic and blanket with you, just sit down in a nice spot and enjoy nature.

A very well developed bike path, but also well frequented. Pedestrians, Inines skaters and cyclists ... with a little consideration you can really enjoy the route.

The path goes along the Chemnitz and is well developed. You get closer to the Chemnitz chimney than ever before.
