A head for heights, sure-footedness and proper hiking shoes are a must for this hike. The path leads up quite steeply on mostly rocky ground, but is well secured with wire ropes, handrails and crampons in the more dangerous places.
Due to the many meters of altitude on the first two kilometers, this trip is mmn. nothing for occasional hikers, the HM are really hard on the thighs and concentration is required on the descent.
If you don't make the mistake of starting too late, like we did, you should be able to complete the tour from the Koča pri Savici hut in one day. The 4.5 hours estimated on Komoot for the complete hike is pretty nasty (and mmn. also a bit misleading) information, as it is probably intended more for sprinters than for hikers and without any breaks.
As an average hiker with low mountain range experience, I would certainly calculate a total of 6, if not 7 hours for the hike.
So:
Start early, take enough water with you, good hiking shoes with tread, then this is a really great, albeit exhausting, tour with wonderful views that make you stop and enjoy yourself again and again...

Hiking shoes, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required. I would also recommend a helmet: we went July 22 and there was rock fall from other hikers/dogs walking further up. Risk of death! Otherwise: great demanding ascent with alpine character. Have fun!
